The Process Behind the Cosmic Series: A Journey from Myth to Geometric Canvas

At the Mhatiz Gallery studio, art is not just a visual representation; it is a translation of ancient stories into the universal language of geometry. The Cosmic Series was born from an obsession with connecting the ordered chaos of the universe with the precision of angle and line.

Today we open the doors to our creative process to reveal how the four cornerstone pieces of this collection were born: Neptuno, Orión, Vega and Casiopea.

Neptuno: The Depth of the Angle

Neptuno was not born from a wave, but from the deconstruction of its trident. In this work, the deep indigo blue acts as the primordial void, while sharp triangles and gold lines break the surface to symbolize power and fluidity.

  • Inspiration: The indomitable force of the sea and divine control over the tides.
  • Deconstruction: The trident becomes a series of vectors that dictate the rhythm of the composition.

Orión: Geometry in the Void

The most famous hunter in the sky moves away from his anthropomorphic form to reveal himself as what he truly is: a map of connections. In this piece, Orion's Belt translates into three collision points of light and gold leaf, connected by fine lines that hold the structure in tense balance.

  • Inspiration: Clear nights where the stars seem touchable.
  • Technique: Use of oil pastels to texture the nebula background, contrasted with the rigidity of geometric lines.

Vega: The Zenith of Light

Vega is the star of purity. On canvas, it manifests through concentric circles and an almost architectural minimalism. It is a work that breathes, where white on white and touches of silver invite meditation.

  • Inspiration: The blue-white glow of the fifth brightest star in the night sky.
  • Aesthetic: Perfect symmetry and balance between nothingness and everything.

Casiopea: The Throne in the Sky

Casiopea is the queen, and her work reflects that majesty. Her unmistakable "W" shape becomes a dance of zigzags plated in gold on a background of emerald greens and deep blacks. It is the piece with the most material weight in the series, symbolizing vanity and eternal glory.

  • Inspiration: The circumpolar constellation and the myth of the queen chained to her throne.
  • Detail: The gold leaf here is not just light, it is weight and authority.

From Myth to Reality

The Cosmic Series does not seek to explain astronomy or mythology literally. It seeks that, when observing a 100x100 cm painting, the viewer feels the same fascination that the ancient Greeks felt when looking up: the awe before the eternal, now captured in the elegance of contemporary geometry.
